This Riesling is made in an off-dry style. The grapes come from a special block planted in 1983 on top of a hill cobbled with ancient river rock, which produces an extremely small and concentrated crop. The grapes for this Rhone style wine are all grown on our estate vineyard, the Arena Valley Vineyard. Syrah is the backbone of this wine and gives it the jammy black currant flavor and licorice nose. Grapes for our Tempranillo are sourced from the Oregon side of Snake River Valley where the latitude, alluvial soils, and climate are similar to the Douro River Valley in Spain. Medium tannins and ten months of barrel aging balance the austere fruit flavors of plum, black cherry, and coffee bean. This wine goes well with grilled lamb, sausages, and paella.
